President El-Sisi says 20 agreements, MOUs signed during Asia tour, highlight laudable stature Egypt enjoys globally

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi thanked the leaders of South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia for their warm hospitality during his recent tour, which lasted from December 6 to 11. He also expressed gratitude to God for the success of the trip in televised remarks following his return to Egypt.

He noted that the official and popular receptions in the three countries reflected Egypt’s high international standing, the deep respect shown for its people and foreign policy, and its strong investment potential.

The President stated that 20 agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed, focusing on increasing bilateral trade volume, balancing trade, and developing strategic economic partnerships.

He emphasized that what has been achieved in Egypt—transforming the country into a hub of opportunity for cooperation and investment with major economic powers—is a direct result of the Egyptian people’s resilience, patience, and hard work amidst economic challenges.

“What we’ve seen during the tour reflects the stature Egypt enjoys, as well as the comparative advantages the Egyptian state possesses following massive investments in establishing advanced infrastructure capable of accommodating any investment,” President El-Sisi said.

He added that numerous business conferences and forums were held, noting: “In each one, we consistently stated our readiness—not merely to encourage businessmen, but to enter into agreements, support and incentivize private investment, or engage in joint ventures involving both the government and the business community. We have found a very strong, determined will to cooperate with Egypt.”

He pointed out that discussions across all visited nations covered cooperation in petrochemicals, automotive manufacturing, new and renewable energy, agriculture, fisheries, and nuclear energy.

Responding to a question about his recent visits, which covered roughly 60 percent of the world’s population over a short period, including China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, France, Italy, and the Vatican, the President highlighted Egypt’s steady, balanced, and moderate foreign policy and its commitment to strategic stability.

“We see the results of this policy in our international relations. We find respect for the political path we pursue, and understanding from the senior officials and heads of state we meet, regarding the political discipline characterizing Egypt’s foreign policy and our keen commitment to maintaining a highly balanced and moderate approach,” the President stated.

“This is not merely a matter of appreciation and respect; it actually encourages these nations to cultivate and develop their ties with Egypt. They view us as a nation that conducts itself with respect in managing its foreign relations, and even in handling its foreign crises.”

He stressed that other nations closely observe Egypt’s stability, resilience, and vast opportunities, underscoring that foreign investors place their confidence only in stable and secure environments.

“The message I wish to convey to the Egyptian people, and one we must emphasize, is that you are a truly ancient and great people. Your country holds a position of immense stature, owing to its magnificent civilizational heritage. We must also highlight the moderate, balanced political course guiding our foreign policy,” El-Sisi said.

“Furthermore, the state of political stability, maintained despite all the economic pressures Egypt has faced, not just in the last five years but from 2011 to the present, has placed heavy burdens on the Egyptian citizen. Yet, the public’s reaction and resilience have earned the deep appreciation of others.”

He concluded, “Ultimately, the true hero of this battle is the Egyptian people, not the officials; none of this could have been achieved without their steadfastness, patience, and hard work.”
