Egyptian Thunderbolt (Sa’aka) forces took part in the multinational exercise “FLINT LOCK – 2026,” which was held over several days in Libya and Côte d’Ivoire with the participation of more than 30 countries.
Egypt’s participation came within the framework of supporting and strengthening military cooperation relations with sisterly and friendly countries, according to the Egyptian Armed Forces spokesperson.

The exercise included carrying out a raid on a coastal target, training on vehicle-based ambush operations, and pursuing highly dangerous elements.
Participants also conducted a number of conventional and unconventional live-fire drills, in addition to training on combat in residential areas and the use of explosive detection devices.

FLINT LOCK – 2026 comes as part of the joint training plan executed by the Egyptian Armed Forces with counterpart forces from various countries to exchange training expertise and execute joint missions efficiently and professionally, the spokesperson added.
Participants stressed the importance of the exercise in promoting understanding of different military cultures and unifying combat concepts.

They also underscored the role of the exercise in enhancing the ability to operate jointly in complex operational environments, contributing to regional and international security and stability efforts.
