In 2007, SAMCRETE established its industrial arm, the Industrial Development Group, IDG, a shareholding company with joint Egyptian – German – American investments; 80% of which is Egyptian capital, while 70% of that is SAMCRETE investment. In October of that year, IDG signed a contract with the Industrial Development Authority, IDA, for the development of the first engineering and automotive industrial park in Egypt e² over a 2 million m² land area under the PPP Framework within the first phase of Egypt’s Industrial Zones Development Program. After the big success achieved in the first phase of the project, an extension of 1.1 million m² was awarded to IDG in September 2009 within the second phase of the program where IDG was ranked First Offer.
