Founded in 1976 by Chairman Adel Barakat, Miraco Carrier HVAC Excellence began as a joint stock company specializing in refrigeration and air conditioning. With over 44 years of industry expertise, Miraco has grown into Africa’s largest heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) company.

A Legacy of Growth

In 1979, Miraco established its first factory in Abu Rewash, spanning 5,400 m² with a production capacity of 2,000 units annually and a workforce of 250 employees. By 1992, Miraco signed a joint venture agreement with Carrier Corporation, marking the beginning of Miraco Carrier HVAC Excellence.

In 2010, Midea joined as a strategic partner, and by 2019, Midea increased its share to 51%. Today, Miraco operates two state-of-the-art factories with over 90,000 m² of working space. Our production capacity has grown to 400,000 units annually, supported by a dedicated team of 1,400 employees.
