Founder and designer, Hamid – Abdel Hamid Sabry, an artist by nature and mechanical engineer by profession, started his journey with classic-furniture making to building billiard tables in the ’80s, even pioneering a billiard hall in Egypt.

Early ’90s, inspired by the needs of his own children, their cousins and friends, Hamid identified an under serviced niche in Egypt, playgrounds. Till today, alamein continues to evolve signature jungle gyms, swing sets, playhouses, see saws, mini gyms and more.

nile class

The Nile Class sailing boat was purpose-built to revive an old nile racing sport and a sailing club was born. Featured in the press, the woodwork, sails and workmanship showcased custom design expertise.

outdoor furniture

Hamid, has since created alamein for primarily outdoor furniture including umbrellas, a strategic move from custom to batch production. He also personally overseas the production of high-end furniture design company CARAVANSERAI using kiln dried beech wood. The wood drying kiln is specially designed, manufactured and operated in-house.
