The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) launched its 143rd “Zad Al Izza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy early Sunday, carrying more than 5,220 tons of comprehensive humanitarian assistance as part of its ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian people.
As part of its campaign to provide iftar meals for one million fasting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the ERC delivered approximately 2,775 tons of food baskets and flour. The convoy also included more than 1,095 tons of medicines, relief supplies, and personal care items, as well as over 1,350 tons of petroleum products. Winter assistance, such as clothing, blankets, mattresses, and tents—was also included.
Meanwhile, the ERC continued its humanitarian operations at the Rafah border crossing on the Egyptian side, receiving and seeing off the 16th group of wounded and sick Palestinians arriving and departing through the crossing, and assisting them with travel procedures.
The organization provided a comprehensive package of relief services to Palestinians, including psychological support for children, family reunification services, distribution of suhoor (pre-dawn) and iftar (post-sunset) meals, warm clothing, personal hygiene kits, and “return kits” for those heading back to Gaza.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a continuous presence at the border since the beginning of the crisis. The Rafah crossing has remained open from the Egyptian side, with the organization operating at full readiness across its logistical centers. To date, it has facilitated the delivery of more than 800,000 tons of humanitarian and relief aid, supported by the efforts of over 65,000 volunteers.
