South Korean President Lee Jae Myung warmly welcomed Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to South Korea on Wednesday, marking El-Sisi’s first visit to the country in 10 years.

In a post on social media, Lee said he is meeting with El-Sisi again in Seoul “after the candid dialogue we had in Cairo last year, making this meeting all the more important and meaningful.”

Lee said he hopes the “miracle on the Han River” and the “miracle on the Nile” would come together to further promote shared prosperity for both countries.

“I warmly welcome President El-Sisi with the Korean people,” Lee said.
