President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed progress on the Egypt-Greece electricity interconnection project, alongside broader cooperation in tourism, transport, labor and migration.

The two leaders also reviewed ways to strengthen trade and investment ties, with discussions covering potential cooperation in telecommunications, information technology, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship.

El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to expanding relations with Greece across multiple sectors in support of shared interests and the two countries’ strategic partnership.

Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy said Mitsotakis praised the strength of bilateral relations and expressed appreciation for Egypt’s hospitality. The Greek prime minister also welcomed Egypt’s hosting of the summit under the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.

Mitsotakis reiterated Greece’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Egypt and strengthening coordination within the trilateral framework, particularly on issues of common interest.

The talks also covered regional and international developments, with both sides stressing the importance of de-escalation, continued coordination and efforts to restore stability in the region.

El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to support regional peace and security, while the meeting also addressed developments in Libya, Syria and Lebanon. The two sides also emphasized the need to safeguard freedom of navigation through international waterways.

On the Palestinian issue, El-Sisi and Mitsotakis underlined the importance of preserving the agreement to end the war in Gaza.

El-Sisi reiterated that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only viable path toward lasting peace and stability in the region.
